The signaling acetyl-choline molecules are released from one neurone, at specialized structures called syapses, and they diffuse to the other neurone, affecting its behaviour. This process can be manipulated pharmacologically at the various points labeled 1 to 4, intrasynaptically or postsynapticaly. |
