In
the successive centuries a series of events toke place that are summarised here:
1) Prince Chigi assumed the function of Marshal of the Conce and formed an armed body of men from Ariccini, to watch over the delicate passing of the powers from the death of one Pope to the election of the successor; the task has been carried out until pontificato of Paul VI° in the XX° the century.
2)
Polish painter Taddeo Kuntze painted the afferscos at the Locanda Martorelli
with mitologiche scenes representing the birth of Ariccia.
3)
The historian Emmanuele Lucidi compiles a history of Ariccia that still today is
fundamental text for those that want futher indepth information.
4)
Was opened on the Public square of Ariccia, the Martorelli Inn, already an Inn,
that it was the target and goal between the end of ' the 700 and first half of
the 800 of most of the famous Italian and foreign artists of that age.

5)
Inititiation of the archeological searches, especially along Vallariccia, the
Ancient Appia: however nearly the total of the recovered material, which
includes statues, artistic reliefs, mosaics and monuments were found but many
have been taken to foreign countries.

The French revolution arrives also to Ariccia where it comes as enthusiastically
as the raising of the tree of freedom; the revolutionary fervour was however,
very soon dampened with the return of the papacy.
7)
Between 1846 and 1854 was constructed the large one viaduct with three orders of
arches and the construction of the New Appia that connects Ariccia with Albano
and Genzano.
8)
At the beginning of the XX° century, was constructed the Orthopedic Institute
by Luigi Spolverini, as part of the initiative of the Chigi and the
Newspaper of Italy.
9)
During the second world war Ariccia suffered from the allied bombing and the
population was forced to seek refuge in Rome. The Monumental Bridge in 1944 was
blown up; reconstructed at the end of the war, colloapsed and rebuilt anew in
1967.

In years ' 60 a vertiginous industrial development in the lower part of the
territory occurred, towards the sea, facilitated by funds for the development of
Southern Italy.
11)
In 1989 the Communal Administration of Ariccia acquired from Prince Chigi the
Palace and it became the center of artistic and cultural activities.
Thus, in synthesis, the history of this town, than currently has about 19.000 inhabitants,is the history of the thirty centuries, from 1000 a.C. to our days.
