The reticular activating system (RAS) Comands the following Systems:
The Thalamus The thalamus is situated beneath the cortical layers. It has often been seen as a relay station between incoming signals and the cortex and between the cortex and the motor neurons. In fact, the thalamus probably plays an important role in attentional behaviour and conscious awareness. |
